Your rig and you - Free sailing lecture at Sussex YC

Without an efficient and functioning rig encompassing spars, furling gear, deck hardware and all the other shiny kit that keeps our masts up you'll have little chance of a Royal Escape Race placing, so it is with great pleasure that I can confirm that John Passmore MBE, Technical Author of Seldén Masts has agreed to give our next sailing lecture.

John is widely accepted as a true expert and I understand that he delivers an outstanding presentation, so please come along to the Sussex Yacht Club, Shoreham-by-Sea clubhouse from 8pm on Wednesday 10 March 2010.

The talk "Your rig and You" will cover all aspects of setting up your rig, along with how to maintain it and importantly what you should be looking for during your regular inspections.

As always Hocine will be serving good cheer from behind the bar and with the talk expected to last around an hour, this has to be a better alternative than watching the TV on a Wednesday night.

We are again indebted to Mike Stevens of Southern Masts and Rigging in Brighton Marina for helping to arrange this evening which is part of the support being given to the Royal Escape Race.
