Guillermo Beltri wins the 7th Torrevieja International IOM Open at Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja

The Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja closes this international event in which 53 sailors of 6 sailors have competed in these three days with 10 races in qualifying round and 10 in final series.

Guillermo Beltri (RCN Torrevieja) has been proclaimed today Sunday, champion of the 7º Torrevieja International Meeting IOM Radio Control. The regatta organized by the Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja is already a national and international reference in this competition, as evidenced by the number of entries in this edition and have reached 53 representing 6 countries: Chile, Great Britain, Portugal, Sweden, Hungary and Spain.

Three days of competition and the three under good wind conditions, in general lines that have allowed to close the qualifying round with 10 tests, the same with which the final round has been closed.

Beltri adds and continues to expand his record in the IOM Radio Control class. The title stays at home thanks to the 2-1-2-4-1-3-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-5-5-4-1-2-4-2-2-2-2-7-6 partials that leave him with 51 points in his locker, after removing his 4 worst results. The podium has been completed with the British Rob Walsh with 71 points, has achieved three partial victories, and the bronze goes to another representative of the host club: Juan Francisco Chumilla, with 106 points, highlighting 6 wins in these 20 contested tests.

Ginés Romero (RCN Torrevieja), José Valverde (CM Almería), Carlos Beltri (CN Villa de San Pedro), Pablo Walper (C.V.R.C. - Chile), José Rico (RC Mediterráneo), Michael Collberg (Mariestad SS-Sweden) and Feliciano Ballestín (C Madrid VRC) complete the top ten in this international appointment of IOM Radio Control.

The trophy ceremony was attended by Diana Box, Councillor for Sports of the City of Torrevieja; Carlos Torrado, president of the Sailing Federation of the Valencian Community and Francisco Martinez Torregrosa, vice president of the RCN Torrevieja among other personalities.
