2014 has been a great first year for the VX One in the UK since its launch at the RYA Dinghy Show with more than 10 boats on the water.

Cowes Week was a great success with 3 VX Ones entered into the 22 strong Sportsboat class and all finished in the top 4. Skipper of Grapefruit Graphics in first place describes the week, "On 5 of the 6 days of racing we had over 15 knots of boat speed! It was my first time at Cowes and I had a great time racing around the cans, navigating around the buoys and racing past the bigger 'water-pushers' as if they were standing still. We'll definitely be back next year."

Since Cowes week the class has held the inaugural VX One National Championship at the Royal Torbay YC with 9 entries, where North Sails' Charlie Cumbley & Andy Couch came out ahead of Pete Barton & Myles Mence.

5 boats are currently competing at the Ullswater YC Winter Series with the latest addition to the fleet being UYC members, 49er sailor Lester Noble and wife Anne Noble. The European fleet is starting to with a boat in Denmark and boats on order for Austria, Italy and Germany.

The 2015 VX One circuit has been finalised, with some stand-alone events combined with supporting large established regattas. Charter boats will be available for each regatta for UK and overseas competitors.

  • May 22-25 Scottish Series, Tarbert
  • June 27/28 Inland Championship, Ullswater YC
  • July 24-26, Taittinger Regatta, Royal Solent YC, Yarmouth
  • August 8-15, Cowes Week
  • Sep 25-27, Nationals, Weymouth SC
