1st for Allen's new Design Assistant
Congratulations are due to our Design Assistant Tom Clayton, who graduates from Portsmouth University with a 1st degree in Product Design & Innovation.
Tom, who sails in anything from 49ers to offshore racing yachts and recently raced around Ireland on the MG38 'McGregor', finishing 4th in class and 3rd overall, has worked at Allen Brothers for the last 4 years during his holidays and spent his 'year in industry' under the experienced and watchful eye of Design and Toolroom Manager Darren Elwell and MD Kim Allen.
Allen are delighted that Tom has joined the team now in a full time capacity and hope he has many happy years designing boat fittings ahead of him!
Allen RS Feva World Championships
Allen is proud to have been supporting the RS Feva World Championships since 2009 and this year the event looks set to be even better than ever with 184 confirmed entries from 15 countries due to be sailing (26th July – 1st August 2014) at the excellent venue of the Yacht Club de Carnac in France.
At this year's event, the young sailors will not only be treated to branded rash vests, but also every competitor will receive a special commemorative bag which is perfect for keeping SI's, the programme, and all those other important bits and pieces. Competitors will also have the opportunity of winning a waterproof mobile phone case by entering a fun competition which they will find in their bag.
UK competitors will also be lucky enough to have the benefit of being coached by Allen sponsored sailor Chris Taylor who will be taking to the water and keeping a watchful eye on his young team.
Allen would like to wish all participants, organisers and competitors a successful and enjoyable event.
