What's new at Ocean Elements Vassiliki for 2014

Set in between the beautiful mountains surrounding the south coast of the Greek island Lefkas, operations at Ocean Elements Vassiliki is now full flow for the 2014 summer season. For this summer we have masses of exciting new equipment and more watersport and biking activities adding to our already extensive program.
New Equipment
For our Sailing boat range we have all the usual suspects, including the RS100, 200 and 500, the Topaz C16, a fleet of Lasers and Picos, as well as the Feva, Bahia and Vago which are all great boats for beginner to advanced sailors alike.
With over 100 windsurf boards we have a vast selection for you to choose from here in Vassiliki. New in our racks for this summer includes the freemove board from Starboard, The Atom IQ, along with all the other latest 2014 models of Starboards flat water windsurfing board range.
In addition to the 2014 boards, we have just rigged up Tushinghams brand new sail, The Bolt. The Bolt is a sail range which changes design with size, featuring a 4 batten lightweight sail in the lower size range to a twin cam powerhouse in the large sail sizes.
Other new equipment developments for Vassiliki includes 2014 Tushingham Rock's, X-15's with every sail below 6 meters is now rigged on skinny reduced diameter masts, and anything above is all rigged on 75% Carbon Masts, offering even more lightweight top-end performance.
Mountain Biking here at Ocean Elements Vassiliki has really grown in popularity, which is undoubtedly due to the amazing beach and mountain scenery Lefkas has to offer. Therefore along with the superb Specilized Hardrock we have added the Specilized Camber to our bike rack, a full suspension top of the range mountain bike that is available on a limited basis for rental.
Changes to the programme
Adding to our RYA watersports coaching programme for this year is the introduction of sandbar coaching and video coaching every Thursday. In Vassiliki Thursday is our non-coaching day for all watersport groups but we now offer these coaching clinics free of charge!
For people wanting to get extra coaching to perfect a windsurf move, or get that small advantage to beat your friends in the dinghy race we also offer private tuition. Our private instructor, Andy Ridgeway, is RYA qualified in sailing and windsurfing at every level and now offers level 1 and 2 RYA Powerboating in the mornings, a perfect activity whilst you wait for the wind to build.
Wind and Weather So Far
Vassiliki is one of the best windsurfing locations in Europe because of the consistently strong cross-shore winds. This year has been no different and we have not had a week where Vassiliki has failed to deliver perfect windsurfing and sailing conditions.
Plans for the Summer
With just weeks away from our peak season we are all super motivated for the summer. Along with our activity holiday program we have been getting the local schools involved with our sailing, windsurfing and SUPing lessons which has been awesome to watch them all get excited about watersports. Our other exciting plans include fun charity events for Sail 4 Cancer, this year we have a weekly Wednesday Quiz night that is always really entertaining with lots of silly acting and dancing, normally led by the instructors!
